Crepes - a very thin pancake filled with either sweets or savouries, got their start in France, spread to England (after a French chef in 1895 created Crepe Suzette for the future King of England, Edward VII, and his daughter Suzette) and has been popular around the world for decades.
It's time for you to give the crepe a try...it's not nearly as hard as you think! And to make them more memorable, be sure to use the delicious sauces provided by RiverHouse Creations.
The next time you hold a dinner party, present a spectacular dessert of Crepes Suzette. Ladle Riverhouse Creations Suzette Sauce - orange, lemon and Grande Marnier - onto sweet crepes in a chafing dish, and then set them alight to carmelize the flavors. A dessert that delights the eye, and tastes delicious. Think your guests might be a tiny bit impressed?
There's lots more to choose from. How about trying the Triple Cherry Amaretto - a blend of whole cherries accented by Amaretto, folded into a light crepe, covered with whipped creme, for a lush creation that your guests are sure to love.
Our own particular favorite is the Riverhouse Creations Banana Caramel Rum crepe – a sauce filled with sweet bananas, caramel, rum and a pinch of cinnamon.
Of course, there's no reason to confine these sauces to a crepe dessert. They also provide that certain je ne sais quois when draped over ice cream, French toast, or even bread pudding.
There's more sauces to be found at the Riverhouse Creations website. They've recently introduced no sugar added offerings, such as Tart Cherry and Pear.
You'll also find recipes for appetizers, such as Cherry Barbecue Sauce and Cream Cheese Spread, entrees such as Alaska Pollock with Orange Sauce, Black Pepper Citrus Chicken, and
Turkey Saute with Cherry Sauce. As for desserts, you can find Banana Foster Tart, Cherry-Almond Coffee Cake, Flourless Chocolate Cake and Quick Cherry Tarts.
Riverhouse Creations chose theeir name, as they felt it embraced the vision they had for their own lives, ...bursting with energy, always moving, full of life and life giving. Sweet. Just like their dessert sauces.
